講座人簡(jiǎn)介:Dorinda J. Gallant, Ph.D., is an associate professor and program chair ofquantitative research, evaluation and measurement at The Ohio State University,College of Education and Human Ecology, Department of Educational Studies.Broadly, Dr. Gallant’s research interest is applied measurement in elementary, secondary, andpostsecondary education within the context of program, product, or personnelevaluations. Specifically, her researchcan be described within the areas of validity evidences for the use ofinstruments, fairness in testing, and program effectiveness. Quantitativeanalyses such as multilevel modeling, item response theory, logisticregression, and chi-square analysis have been used to address researchquestions related to the aforementioned areas of research. In general, findingsfrom the studies provide researchers, practitioners, policy makers, and otherstakeholders with pertinent information useful to the decision-making processregarding programs, commercially available education products, and personnel.Dr. Gallant is currently investigating assessment literacy and practices ofinservice and preservice teachers.
